BEFORE AND AFTER

Frequently Asked Questions

This varies from patient to patient. For most patients there is marked swelling and/or bruising for the first few weeks which then rapidly reduces although will still change subtly for several months after surgery. Irregularities of the nose are not uncommon to feel at this stage. The final result following rhinoplasty generally becomes apparent at approximately one year after surgery, although in patients with thicker skin it can take even longer. Results vary from patient to patient based on individual factors such as healing, anatomy and skin type.

We would usually suggest no strenuous activity for four weeks, and no contact sports for six weeks. For the first week after surgery, patients will usually have a plaster cast on the nose which we will remove in our clinic. Avoid flying if possible for at least two weeks. For most of our patients, they are usually back to work after two weeks. Healing can vary from patient to patient based on individual factors such as healing, anatomy and skin type.

This is never an easy decision with such a wealth of options available. Increasingly, more rhinoplasty or nose surgeons in London and the UK are honing their skillset to a few key areas in order to provide the best possible outcomes to patients. We want patients to have a balance between function and aesthetics and with fellowship training in both sinus surgery and rhinoplasty surgery, Mr Unadkat is well-suited to provide this. Our goal is to provide patients with a balance of functional and aesthetic outcomes, ensuring the nose performs well while achieving desired cosmetic results, if necessary.
